- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I have been using H&R block since I lived in Texas. When I moved to Louisiana in Nov 2015, I still went to same tax preparation company in Metairie. After I submitted all my documents they told me to file only federal tax return for 2015. Now I am getting mails from Louisiana Department of Revenue regarding my 2015 State tax return. I paid the tax amount and penalty. Now the question is who is responsible for all those penalties after you pay your tax preparer around $300 for preparing your tax returns. Why do they did not tell me to file my state tax returns? We do not know the tax law that is why we take help from these companies and they get paid for legal services. If this can happen to you why do we go and pay those big fees to these preparers. I am really upset about all the hassel I am getting these days and the penalties I have paid for someones else negligence.By Kaushal Maskey, September 22, 2017
